ALPINISTA
Empowering garments
Having grown up in a mountainous area, I used my experience with alpine sports to create 'Alpinista', a collection of functional outdoor garments, which reuses paragliders as a primary material. Sport paragliders can only be used up to a certain amount of flight hours, after which the fabric becomes a waste material. The project gives this material a new application through fashion. 'Alpinista' proposes a collection of outdoor outerwear which is lightweight and provides wearers with a sense of protection and security. All designs are based on anatomical studies of the body and emphasise comfort and empowerment, by referencing dynamic lines in combination with safety equipment such as harnesses and armoured protective gear. The garments are designed to stimulate and challenge the wearers' desire to do something extraordinary.

GREEN CONCEPT AWARD - NOMINATION
2023
Since 2013, the international Green Concept Award honours visionary design concepts for sustainable products, services and materials that are not (yet) on the market. The award is aimed at young designers, start-ups and established companies.
Participants receive feedback from a jury of experts and nominees benefit from many advantages to take their sustainable projects to the next level. For projects that are already on the market, there is the Green Product Award.
